Death Takes C.B. Bassett
Carroll B. Bassett, 38, well known San Antonio service station operator, of 915 West Summit avenue, died at the Medical and Surgical hospital at 5 a.m. Friday of an infection resulting from an automobile accident a month ago.
Bassett was injured April 24 when his car got out of control on a wet street and struck a telephone pole in the 500 block of North Flores street. He suffered head injuries and was treated at a hospital for two weeks and returned to his home.
When, a week later, a blood infection developed, he was returned to the hospital, and died early Friday.
Bassett operated one of the largest service station in the city at 1102 Main avenue.
Bassett is survived by his widow, Mrs. Margaret Ann Bassett; his daughter, Miss Margaret E. Basset; his father, R.J. Bassett; his aunt, Mrs. Gordon Moorman, and his sister-in-law, Mrs. Anna Bassett all of San Antonio.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Hagy and McCollum chapel, with the Rev. McKinstry and the Rev. E.M. Pennell officiating.
