More than 16,000 descendants of Jean Besset of the #14B Jean Besset family have now been added to the website.
Nearly 1,000 of them carry the Bassett surname and nearly 5,000 take the name Besset, Bessett or Bessette.
The most famous member of the his family is St. Andre of Montreal (born Alfred Bessette), canonized in 2010.
If you ever get to Montreal, be sure to visit Saint Joseph’s Oratory, built by Father Andre beginning in 1924. It is a magnificent basilica. My wife and I visited in July of 2013.
