Shiwei Jiang of Virginia sent the images from a Mayhew-Bassett family bible in his possession.
It was originally owned by Gov. Thomas Mayhew. In the 1700’s it was passed to Jane (Mayhew) Bassett, wife of John Bassett It was then passed down to their son Benjamin Bassett.
The fading notes at the bottom of one page reads: “Abner Mayhew his book. Given to him by Benjamin Basset, Esq., August 1814, five days before set out for Ohio.”
