Oct “Extras”

The following trees were added to the Bassett website database since the last newsletter:

512B. William Bassett of Nether Hall, Suffolk England (21 individuals)
513B. Frank Bassett of Youngstown, Mahoning County, Ohio (31 individuals)

Next month’s newsletter will feature a 50th wedding anniversary photograph of the James Hervey Bassett family of Kentucky along with an interesting update on some new DNA results linking the Bassetts of Cornwall to the #2B Thomas Bassett Connecticut family.

We have added a new section to the website called “Censuses and Obits”.

I have now included my working documents for census and obituaries at the website. You click on the link for a census year and it will open a word document that contains all of the census records that I have currently looked up for a given year. Some years are virtually complete (such as the 1850 US Census) while others currently only have several dozen. Along with the census information, it will also give the family number to show which family that census record belongs to if currently linked to a family.

In the obituary file, these are obituaries by state that I have not yet linked to any of the families in my records.

A sample of an 1851 census is shown below. Note this family is #22B165.2 in my master table.
1851 British Census of Soapers Ashwater Village, Ashwater Holsworthy, Devon
