Bassett Family Reunion Held Here
Through the courtesy of Pete Stauffer and Oak Hunter all eleven children of Ed and Sally Bassett and their families met yesterday for the first time in twenty years at the Stauffer Retreat here.
Members of the family present were: Mr. and Mrs. Harry L. Bassett and sons, Maxell and Bob, Topeka, Kas., Mrs. W.E. Gaston and children, Martha and Joe, Marshalltown, Ia.; Mr. and Mrs. George White and sons, Dan and Ben Ray, Moberly, Mr. and Mrs. W.O. Bassett, Kansas City, Kan.; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Bassett, Middle Grove, Mr. and Mrs. J. Elliston Bassett and children, Betty and Jimmy, Moberly, Miss Vera Bassett, Los Angeles, Cal.; Mr. and Mrs. C.E. Zahl and children, Marjorie, C.E. Jr., and Sally B., Moberly; Mrs. W.E. Luton and daughter, Mary Frances, Long Beach, Cal.; Mr. and Mrs. James Douglass and daughters, Vera Frances and Dorothy Sue, Marshalltown, Ia.; and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bassett, Chicago, Ill.
Guests were Mr. Stauffer, Mr. and Mrs. Hunter, of Moberly; Dr. and Mrs. Rush Mason, Salisbury and Miss Cora Coade, Los Angeles, Cal.
The Bassett family moved in 1907 from Middle Grove to Moberly. The father, Ed Bassett, died here June 5, 1916, and Mrs. Bassett died Oct. 17, 1921.
