Mr. Thomas Bassett
Mr. Thomas Bassett, one of the oldest resident of the Roebourne district, passed away on Friday night, following a stroke which occurred early in the evening. Deceased arrived her about 69 years ago at the age of two years, and had been in the district ever since. He was one of the original drivers of the mail coach plying between Roebourne, Condon, and Marble Bar, and at one time owned Kangan station. A masonic funeral was accorded deceased, he being one of the first members of the Harding Lodge.
