I previously had the family of George S. Bassett of Ohio documented in the #307B family. From the marriage certificate of George S. Bassett, we now know his parents names. The mother is listed as Mosey J. Ellis. Sherman Minor Bassett was first married to Margaret Wiggins in 1848. She died in 1849. Sherman married (2) Eleanor Forte on 16 Feb 1850. Since George was born on 29 Jul 1850, it appears that George was conceived after the death of Sherman’s first wife and before the marriage to his second wife. I have so far found no record of Mosey J. Ellis.
