Miss Hylda Inabinet Becomes Bride Of Robert King Bass of Hartsville
St. Matthews - A wedding of beauty and charm was that of Miss Hylda Elizabeth Inabinet and Robert King Bass, which was solemnized at 5:30 p.m. December 27, at Saint Paul’s Methodist Church, St. Matthews. The Reverend Raymond H. Taylor performed the double ring ceremony in the presence of a large assemblage of relatives and friends.
Mrs. Eugene Keller of St. Matthews, organist, and William Cutler of Hartsville, vocalist, furnished the wedding music.
Ernest T. Bass, Jr. of Aiken, brother of the bridegroom; James R. Inabinet of Clemson, brother of the bride, Harrell Gardner and Charles R. Fink, both of Hartsville, served as usher-groomsmen.
The bridesmaids were Misses Billie Wannamaker and Frances Bass of Hartsville, sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Bertha Mae Harris of McCormick, roommate of the bride while she was a student at Coker college. They wore dresses of candy green satin, and small spays of pink gladioli buds adorned their hair. They carried fan-shaped bouquets of pink gladioli, tied with pink satin ribbons.
Miss Mary Arthur Baxter of St. Matthews was maid of honor and Mrs. James R. Inabinet of Clemson was matron of honor. They also wore costumes of candy green satin. Their fan shaped bouquets of pink carnations and gladioli flowerets were edged with pink ostrich tips and tied with pink satin ribbon.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, James F. Inabinet, wore a gown of white slipper satin, a yoke of nylon net outlined with folds of the satin, long sleeves and a full skirt extending into a train. Her finger-tip veil of bridal illusion edged with Chantilly lace fell from a tiara of pearl orange blossoms. The bridal boquet was made of white stock and white carnations centered with a purple-throated white orchid, and was tied with white satin ribbon.
Ernest T. Bass, Sr., of Hartsville, was his son’s best man.
Mrs. James F. Inabinet, mother of the bride, wore a dinner dress of precleain blue crepe with matching mitts, and a corsage of American Beauty roses.
Mrs. Ernest T. Bass, Sr., mother of the bridegroom, was attired in aqua crepe and wore a corsage of pink roses.
Immediately following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lynwood Inabinet, uncle and aunt of the bride.
During the evening the bride and bridegroom left for a wedding trip to southern points of interest. For traveling the bride wore a gabardine suit of claret wine with matching felt hat, white lace-trimmed crepe blouse, and black accessories. Her corsage was the orchid from her bouquet.
Mrs. Bass is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James F. Inabinet of St. Matthews. She was graduated in 1948 from Coker college, where she majored in biology and was a member of the Biology club. Since September she has taught science in the Hartsville high school.
Mr. Bass is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest T. Bass, Sr., of Hartsville, where he is employed in the post office and is also associated with his father in the mercantile business.
