Mrs. Mary E. Grissette Bass of Dothan died April 12, 2010, at the Crenshaw Community Hospital in Luverne, AL. She was 87.
Graveside services will be held at 10 A.M. Friday, April 16, 2010, at Gardens of Memory Cemetery under the direction of Ward Wilson Funeral Home.
The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 P.M. Thursday, April 15, 2010. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to Southside Baptist Church.
Mrs. Bass was born April 21, 1922, in Pike County, Alabama, the daughter of the late Rufus Grissette and Annie Mae Hooten Grissett. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church. She loved to work in the yard and was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, who loved her family, her church, and her Lord.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, James W. Bass, John Wayne Bass, five brothers, and two sisters.
Survivors include: daughters, Barbara Runth of Panama City, FL; Deborah Hobbs of Midland City; son, Donald Bass and his wife, Carolyn of Dothan; sister, Annie Ruth Richburg of Abbeville; twelve grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
