      Robert "Bob" Duprey, 85, formerly of Greenfield, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2016 in Sarasota, Florida. He was born in Greenfield, MA on October 27, 1931. Bob was the beloved husband of the late Beverly (Bassett) Duprey.
      Bob leaves behind a daughter Susan Mazik of Lakewood Ranch, FL and a son Michael Duprey of Winchester, NH. He also leaves five grandchildren; Nicole Fahey of Turners Falls, MA, Kaela Marguet of Gill, MA, Chris Duprey of Greenfield, MA, Ryan Mazik of Lakewood Ranch, FL, Shannon Mazik of Lakewood Ranch, FL, three great-grandchildren: Brynna and Tilly Fahey and Noah Marguet. Bob was known to his grandchildren as "Bapa".
      Bob also leaves behind his sister Marion Tyni of Hawaii and his brother John Duprey of Greenfield, MA. He was predeceased by his brother William.
      Bob served in the US Navy during the Korean War.
      He worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts prior to fulfilling his dream of owning a tavern. Bob owned the Rist Tavern in Greenfield for 28 years and was loved by his patrons as if they were his family. His 80th birthday celebration was held at his old Tavern, now known as Smitty's Pub.
      Bob was a member of the Elks Club, Moose Club and the American Legion.
      His sense of humor and sarcasm always made people laugh and thoroughly enjoyed his company. He loved attending Greenfield High School football games where his son Mike was head coach. Bob also loved to travel in his RV and he was an avid card player and would often play until the wee hours of the morning. No matter where he was, he always struck up a conversation with someone and was always teasing. He was loved and admired by all.
      Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 6 pm at the Smith-Kelleher Funeral Home, 87 Franklin St., Greenfield, MA.
      Funeral services will follow on Saturday, December 3 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home followed by burial at Green River Cemetery in Greenfield.
