Rosalie Bowery Newcomb Bass
BASS Rosalie Bowery Newcomb Bass, 84, of Richmond, died Monday, October 2, 2000. She is survived by her husband, Perry Wade Bass Sr.; one brother, J.T. Bowery; two sisters, Vivian Apperson and June Hattfield; two sons, Richard and Curtis Newcomb; five daughters, Shirley Strickland, Patricia Durrette and Rosalie Johnson, all of Richmond, Alice-Faye Dial and Katherine Dean, both of Wilson, N.C.; five stepdaughters, Ruth Brown, Elaine Austin, Francis Lloyd and Larae Easter, all of Richmond, and Paulette Williams of New York; three stepsons, Perry Bass Jr., Lawrence Bass and Preston Bass. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Her remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull St. Rd., where the family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Maury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Bon Secours Hospice Program, 5801 Bremo Rd., Richmond, Va. 23226.
