Mrs. Rose Bessette Demarest
Mrs. Rose Bessette Demarest, (Desmarais), widow of the late Essie Demarest, died at her home, 2 High Street, Green Island, yesterday. She was born in St. John’s, Canada, came to Green Island as a young girl, and had made her home there more than sixty years. She was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church. Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Thomas Carter, Mrs. John Stanford, Mrs. Thomas Shaw, Mrs. Charles O’Rourke, and Mrs. Charles Bradley; five sons, Leo, George, Omer, Thomas and Albert Demarest; eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The funeral will be Thursday at 9 a.m. from the residence and at 9:30 a.m. from St. Joseph’s Church. Interment will be in St. Jean’s Cemetery.
