Mrs. Zettie Bass Pittman
Kenly - Mrs. Zettie Bass Pittman, 54, the wife of Oscar Pittman, died in a Goldsboro hospital Saturday afternoon. A daughter of the late Noah and Tezar Trevathian Bass, she was born in Wilson County and lived in this community all her life. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock at Pinkney Baptist Church, conducted by the Reverend L.E. Goodwin Jr., assisted by the Reverend Worth Johnson. Burial will follow in the family cemetery near the home. The body will lie in state one hour at the church preceeding the service. Surviving in addition to her husband are four daughters, Mrs. Clinton Mitchell, Mrs. Grover Mitchell, and Mrs. Norwood Mitchell, all of Goldsboro, Mrs. Shubert Parrish of Lucama, Route 2; three sons, Harvey of Kenly, Route 1, Elvni of Fremont, Route 2, and J.T. of Pikeville, Route 2; two brothers, Percy Bass of Kenly, Route 1 and Isaac Bass of Lucama, and 16 grandchildren.
