Sharalie Harcourt (1952 ? 2017)
Sharalie, 64, a long time Indianapolis area resident, passed away March 26, 2017 in Indianapolis. She was born November 29, 1952 in Rushville to Russell & Betty (Bassett) Harcourt. Sharalie was a 1970 graduate of Rushville Consolidated High School, obtained her BA from Indiana University in 1974 and later obtained a Master's in Counseling from Butler University.
She worked many years for the Marion County Welfare Department and many years at the State Department of Children's Services. She was instrumental in helping to set up their computer systems.
She volunteered at Riley Hospital for Children rocking and comforting babies born with substance addictions. Gardening, reading, antiques, playing word and board games with friends were some of her treasured past times.
Sharalie surmounted many physical difficulties throughout her life with grit and determination. She had the art of making and keeping good friends.
Sharalie is survived by a brother, Carl & wife Barbara Harcourt of Milroy, aunts, Marilyn Woods of Brownsburg and Maurita Ball of Richmond and several cousins and devoted friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and an aunt, Betty Spyrison.
There will be a memorial service announced at a later date in Indianapolis and graveside burial will be held in Rushville's East Hill Cemetery.
