      Otilia (Tillie) C. Bassett, 30 April 2023

Mrs. Otilia (Tillie) C. Bassett passed away Sunday, April 30, 2023 in Frisco, Texas at the age of 90. Tillie attended St. Mary?s School of Nursing in Tucson, AZ earning her degree as a Registered Nurse. Early in her nursing career, she gravitated to the OB/GYN specialty and assisted in the delivery of hundreds of infants over the course of her 30+ years in nursing. Not deterred by challenges, Tillie was determined to find gainful nursing employment during the 29+ years she and her husband spent with the Air Force moving from base to base.
She also met the love of her life, William (Bill) Bassett at a VFW dance in Tucson, AZ and they married in 1955. Both before and after retirement, Tillie and Bill enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S., Mexico and Europe. She was an adventurer and enjoyed her travels with Bill.
Tillie was preceded in death by her parents, Gustavo and Benita Carrasco and her husband, William ?Bill? Bassett, with whom she was married to for over 55 years. Together they had four children, William ?Bill? Bassett (Donna), Mary Kathleen ?Kathy? Jordan (Trayce), Thomas Bassett and Steven ?Steve? Bassett (Carolyn). She also had eight loving grandchildren including Elizabeth Bassett, Julie Bassett, James Bassett, David Bassett, Natalie Bassett, Anne Jordan, Allyn Jordan and Theresa Jordan, and one great grandchild, Finnley Jordan. She is also survived by three younger sisters, Lily Torres, Evy Montes and Rita Trujillo along with many nieces and nephews.
She touched the lives of many other friends during her and her husband?s many years of traveling and serving with the U.S. Air Force.
Tillie?s enduring faith was strengthened by her children, her grandchildren and her great grandson. She will be dearly missed by those who knew her indomitable spirit.
