Lon Roy Bass
Services for Lon Roy Bass, Sr., will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, April 13, 2008, at Pineville Church of Christ with Brothers Buster Dobbs and Joshua Lifford officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Ball, at 10 a.m., Monday, April 14, 2008.
Mr. Bass, 76, of Pineville, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2008, in the VA Medical Center.
Lon Roy Bass, Sr. was born November 15, 1931, in San Antonio, Texas. He served from 1950 ? 1955 in the United States Air Force. He graduated from the University of Texas in 1960 with a Bachelor?s Degree of Science and Pharmacy. He owned and operated College Drug Store in Pineville from 1962 to 1974. He was employed as a pharmacist at V.A. Medical Center up until time of illness in November of 2007. He was a faithful member and elder of Pineville Church of Christ.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lon Riley Bass and Sallie C. Bass of San Antonio, Texas.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Baker Bass and two sons, Riley N. Bass and wife Kaeryn E. Bass of Pineville, and Lon Roy Bass, Jr. and wife Nancy S. Bass of Pineville, daughter Sally B. Baquet and husband Paul Baquet of San Antonio, Texas; seven grandchildren, Jessica, Meghan, Jerry, Ashley Caitly, Paul III, and Lonnie; three great grandchildren; dearest cousins, Dorothy Gene, Ella Catherine, Lorraine, Cathy, Margy, Peggy and Tine.
Pallbearers will be Lon Roy Bass, Jr., Riley N. Bass, Kevin Sweeney, Paul Baquet, Keith Baker and Dale Leland.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 12, 2008, at Hixson Brothers, Pineville, from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m.
