Miss Bassett weds Mr. Lively
The Old Gin Special Events Center in Conway was the setting for the 4 p.m. Saturday (May 6, 2006) wedding of Ruth Ann Bassett and Jerrid Harold Lively, both of Perryville.
The bride is a daughter of Tommy and Donetta King of Plumberville and the late Robert W. Bassett Jr. of Akron, Ohio. She is a granddaughter of Robert W. Bassett Sr. of Akron and the late Ruth Bassett and the late Ardith and Mildred Passmore of Conway.
The groom s a son of Jerry and Sheila Lively and Billy and Kelly Hicks, all of Perryville. He is a grandson of Glenn and Evelyn Lively of Bigelow and Mary McCormack of Perryville and the late Harold McCormack.
Ancil Lea III officiated the ceremony.
The ceiling inside the building was lit with strands of white lights. The couple used the fireplace inside the building as an altar. Atop the fireplace were 11 lit white candles in two sizes; the smaller size honoring each of their parents and the larger candles in memory of the bride's father, the bride's grandparents and the groom's grandfather.
Mr. King escorted his stepdaughter to the altar. The bride wore a strapless satin dress with a single layer waist-length veil and a rhinestone tiara. She wore a pearl necklace, bracelet and earrings and carried a bouquet of white lilies, pink roses and greenery.
Bobby Harrison of Greenbrier, brother-in-law of the bride, served as an usher and escorted the mothers to their seats as "Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness" by Smashing Pumpkins was played. Amy Harrison of Greenbrier, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Andrea Bassett, sister-in-law of the bride, Stephanie Covington and April Baker, all of Conway. Each wore a green dress and carried a single calla lily tied with a pink ribbon. Each entered as "Angel Dream" by Tom Petty was played. Sky Donnelly, niece of the groom, and Manija Green, both of Perryville, were flower girls. Ringbearer was Phoenix Donnelly of Perryville, nephew of the groom. Travis Lively of Perryville served his brother as best man. Groomsmen were Angus Hicks of Perryville, brother of the groom, Cole (Landon) Hayes of Morrilton, cousins of the groom, and Tim Bassett of Conway, brother of the bride.
At the end of the ceremony, the couple exited as "Walls" by Tom Petty was played. A reception followed the ceremony. The tables were decorated with white tablecloths and for the centerpieces, the couple chose arrangements of pink and white roses tied with green ribbon. Each table had a camera for guests to take pictures for the bride and groom to keep. Guests were served buffet style with a variety of meats, cheeses, crackers and vegetables as well as baked beans, coleslaw, pasta salad, chicken tenders, chips and pickles. The groom's table was decorated with his favorite albums on vinyl, pictures of the groom hunting and fishing and a picture of the couple. The groom's cake was a chocolate cake with butter cream icing; the cake was shaped like a bass fish.
The wedding cake was a three-tiered white cake with white icing. It was decorated with green ribbon, crystals and small wine glasses. The couple chose a fiber optic topper with swans in a heart shape accented with lace and ribbon. Beside the cake table was the engagement picture of the couple on a silver easel.
A bridal shower was hosted by Donetta King, Amy Harrison, Andrea Bassett and Rachel Puckett on April 8 at Holiday Inn Express. Guests were served a variety of finger foods and dips as well as punch, cake, mints and nuts.
The couple is at home in Perryville.
