Naomi R. Stripling Taylor
LENOX – Naomi R. Stripling Taylor, 79, of Lenox, died Thursday, May 3, 2007, after a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Spring Hill Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Dwight Marshall, the Rev. Lynwood Davis and the Rev. Jim Sandlin officiating. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to service. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. The family received friends from 7 to 9 last night at Purvis Funeral Home in Adel. Mrs. Taylor was born September 2, 1927 in Ashland, Ala. to the late James & Hettie Bassett Richardson and was a member of Spring Hill Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, James Stripling of Lenox; one daughter and son in law, Vicky and Darrell McBrayer of Monticello, Fla.; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Buford and Marie Richardson of Alabama and Bill Richardson of North Carolina; four sisters and sons-in-law, Gladys Scrimphsire of Alabama, Josephine Shiver of Manchester, Maurice and Pete Belsha of Louisiana, and Robbie Nell and Hilton Cooper of Pavo; grandchildren, Shuan and Joanne McBrayer of Boston, Denny McBrayer of Monticello and Sabrina & Luke Burch of Homerville; great grandchildren, Ben McBrayer of Boston and Matthew Webb of Homerville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Julius A. Stripling and two brothers, Winfred Richardson and A.V. Richardson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association and Hospice.
