- Floretta F. Lawrence
Floretta F. Lawrence, 78, of 6002 Cart Path Road, Sheboygan, died at her home of Lou Gehrig's Disease, Monday, March 20, 2000.
Floretta was born Oct. 8, 1921 in Eae Claire, Wis., to Charles and Maude (Kerr) Heidemann.
She was married to Willard J. Bassett in Eau Claire, Wis., who preceded her in death. In 1957, she married Richard H. Lawrence. The couple resided in Adams County, for many years. Mr. Lawrence preceded her in death in November 1978.
In November 1998, she came to Sheboygan to be close to her family, who cared for her during her illness. Floretta was a member and past president of the Adams County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and Order of the East Star, Quincy Chapter #177, where she held several offices.
With the Eastern Star being an important part of her life, Floretta also found time to oraganize and manage the Adams County Hospital gift shop, a service that was most important to her.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles W. and Diane K. Bassett, with whom she made her home, and Stephen Douglas and Margaret Bassett of Fairfield, Conn.; five grandchildren, Brian R. Bassett, Michelle Faith Bassett, Douglas Bassett, Christine Bassett and Craig Bassett; two sisters, Evelyn Bedore of Ironwood, Mich., and Thedora Kasper of Lake Nabagamon, Wis., other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Owen Heidemann, and a sister, Myrtle Marie Kuehn.
Memorial services are being planned for a later date in Adams. Interment will take place in Easton Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established in her name.
