  Notes	BUTLER WEEKLY TIMES, APRIL 16, 1936 Ewing Bassett Dead, Written for The Times Ewing Bassett was born in Branch County, Michigan, April 7, 1860 and departed this life at hishome in Pleasant Gap Township, April 11, 1936 at the age of 76 years and 4 days. He was united in marriage to Grace Cole on August 4, 1889 and to this union nine children were born. Three preceded their father in death. The remaining are three sons, Charley, Ray and Glen of the home address, and three daughters Mrs. Oscar Nafus, Mrs. Logan Rains, and Mrs. Leo Frost of this county. Besides his wife, sons and daughters he leaves seven grandchildren and two brothers, D.D. Bassett, this county and Will Bassett of Glendale, Calif. His friends were numbered by his acquaintances and he was a willing and tireless worker where duty called and where he found pooprtunities for service. About 30 years ago he was united with the Double Branch Church and his deeds and actions entitled him to the crown he has been called to wear. Funeral services conducted by Rev. Carpenter were held at the Pleasant Gap Church Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock.
