      June 24, 1921 ? July 7, 2014

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother and grandmother Elda Marie Duclaux (Bessette), at Oliver Lodge, on July 7, 2014. Elda was born June 24, 1921, at St. Brieux, Saskatchewan. On November 5, 1940, she married Joseph George Duclaux, along with her two sisters, Estelle (Albert) and Alice (August), in a special triple wedding ceremony. Wilfred was born in 1942. In 1943-44 she became extremely ill, being flown to hospitals in Saskatoon and Prince Albert, as well as taking the train to the Mayo clinic, in Rochester, Minnesota. On several occasions, she was administered the Last Rites. She survived this to bear three more children Francis, Mary Anne and Jacqueline. In 1968, they moved to Saskatoon. She helped with the family businesses, Duclaux Trucking and Frank's Hauling. In the 1970's, she started working at Saskatoon City Hospital, until she retired. Her strong faith carried her through life and in later years, often spent time in the chapel praying. It was a common occurrence in the Bessette family to spend the evenings, dancing, playing music and just all-around having fun. She carried this love of music and laughter with her throughout her life. Her respect and kindness for people will not be easily forgotten by anyone who knew her. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She Leaves to mourn, her four Children, Wilfred (Karen), Francis (Carol), Mary Anne (Greg) and Jacqueline (Mike). Six grandchildren Myles, Sherri, Meagan, Jesse, Ryan and Dallas. Five Great Grandchildren Savannah, Dorthy, Isabella, Sophia and Lexi. Also survived by sisters-in-law Cecile Bessette and Therese Bessette and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by the love of her life, Joseph, her parents Wilfred and Georgeline. Her brothers and Sisters Alice, Rene, Hubert, Art, Herve, Estelle, Connie and Ilene. Brothers and Sister-in-laws Marie, August, Johnny, Julie (Lily), and Freddy. Vigil of Prayer will be held at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 211 Ave O S., Thursday July 10, 2014 at 7 p.m. The funeral Liturgy will be held Friday July 11, 2014, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church.
