Mrs. Bessette 30 Years Resident of State, Dies
Mrs. Edevidge Bessette, born in Canada, April 1, 1846 and a resident of Montana for the last 30 years, spent largely in Helena, died early yesterday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J.A. Matson, 646 West Galena street, following prolonged illness. Mrs. Bessette resided in Butte for the last fiveyears. Surviving her, besides her daughter, Mrs. Mattson, are five sons, Mose, Charles, Alphonse and Ralph of Butte, and Arthur of Oakland, Cal., and two daughters, Mrs. Ed Menard of Helena and Mrs. Harry Cantwell of Butte. The funeral will be held tomorrow morning from the home of Mrs. Mattson at 9 o’clock, proceeding to St. Patrick’s church, where mass will be celebrated at 9:30.
