Athalie Bassett Mulberry
MULBERRY, Athalie Bassett age 97, of Middletown, OH departed this world July 18 at Woodlands Senior Living. The daughter of Denver and Veleria Bassett attended the University of Kentucky and graduated from Georgetown College the same year her daughter graduated from high school. Athalie began her teaching career in a one room school in Owen County and also taught at Bethany and at Owen County Elementary. Students there will remember her as Miss Peggy. She also taught at Taft, Oneida, and Amanda in Middletown. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Middletown where she was active in her Sunday School Class and Circle until it became necessary for her to live in an assisted living environment. As a gift of love she crocheted the cloth used in communion services. She is survived by her daughter Irene Webster Orem (Jim) Middletown, OH: a sister Norma Tipton of Georgetown, KY; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Eugene Webster and her husband Y.L. Mulberry. Funeral arrangements are with the Johnson Funeral Home, Georgetown, KY and burial in Georgetown Cemetery. Visitation will be two hours prior to the funeral. The funeral will be Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer?s Association, 644 Linn St., Suite 1026, Cincinnati, OH 45203.

Athalie Bassett Mulberry, 97, of Middletown, Ohio, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2014, at Woodlands Senior Living. She was a school teacher and began her teaching career in a one-room school in Owen County and also taught at Bethany and at Owen County Elementary. Students there will remember her as 'Miss Peggy.' She is survived by her daughter, Irene Webster (Jim) Orem of Middletown, Ohio. A funeral service was held July 22, 2014, at Johnson's Funeral Home in Georgetown. Burial was in the Georgetown Cemetery.
