James "Jim" E. Bassett
James "Jim" E. Bassett, 65, of Grafton, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2011, at EMH Healthcare in Elyria, following a long illness. He was born January 5, 1946 in Elyria.
James was a lifelong resident of Eaton Township. He was employed by GM as a Tool and Die Maker, retiring in 1999. He was an avid farmer, and enjoyed working with computers, driving, working with his hands doing home improvements, and on farm equipment.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Trudy M. (nee Johnson); son, Timothy J. (wife, Cori W.) of Fairfax, Virginia; two grandchildren, Tessa and Ainsley Bassett; a sister, Judi Bubb (Dan) of Grafton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Doris (Cordova) Bassett.
Services are private. Burial will be at Butternut Ridge Cemetery, Eaton Township.
