Mrs. Mayo Bass
TABOR ? Funeral services for Mrs. Mayo Bass, 71, were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Reeves funeral home. The Rev. Mr. Charles Ellis, pastor of the Community church at Hillsdale, was in charge. Burial was in the Malvern cemetery.
Mary Estella Winbar, daughter of Edward and Elizabeth Winbar, was born southeast of Hastings. She was married Feb. 6, 1893, to Mayo Bass. Five children were born to this union. One son, Orval, preceded his mother in death.
There survives the husband and four children, Mrs. Ada Throckmorton of Ames, Mrs. Harriet Schere of Glenwood, Mayo Bass, Jr., of Compton, Calif., and Athur Bass in the armed forces somewhere in Belgium. There are also 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild. One grandson, Richard Throckmorton, is in a German prison camp. One half-sister also survives, Miss Elva Douglas, of Omaha.
