Russell Sater

Russell Sater, 76, of Cedar Falls, died at his home on Sunday, August 11, 2013.
He was born June 6, 1937, in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of John and Hazel (Starkweather) Sater. He married Patsy Bass on October 2, 1960 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.
He served in the US Navy on the USS Helena during the Korean War. He was employed for 27 years with Chamberlain Manufacturing and then seven years with Richway Industries in Janesville.
Survived by: his wife, Patsy; a daughter, Judy (Rod) Leach of Ankeny; a son, Terry of Ankeny; two grandchildren, Nick and Amanda Leach; two sisters, Margaret Sherfy of Verona, MO, and Carmen Kelly of Des Moines; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by: three brothers, John, Dick and Bob Sater; and two sisters, Alice Holton and Mary Sater.
Services: 10:00 a.m. Saturday at New Hartford United Methodist Church with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, Cedar Falls. Military honors will be provided by the Cedar Falls AMVETS Post #49. Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Richardson Funeral Service, and for one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
