Local couple return from San Francisco honeymoon
Miss Lois Malattia walked down the aisle of the Oneonta Congregational Church in South Pasadena on the afternoon of April 8 to become the bride of Ross E. Wilber.
Dr. Edwin Roberts officiated at an altar decorated in baskets of white mums, glads and daisies.
The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Malattia of El Sereno, wore a floor length A line empire style white organza gown with full sleeves and oval neckline trimmed with pearled chantilace. her vail was a lace trimmed illusion mantilla with full train. For her bouquet she carried white daisies surrounding a white orchid corsage.
Attending as maid of honor, was Miss Ann Najera. Serving as bridesmaids were the brides sister Miss Joyce Malattia, and the bridegroom?s sister, Miss Wendy Wilber. The three were gowned alike in tourquoise, and carried tourquoise and white daisy bouquets.
The bridegroom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Burton Wilber of Highland Park, chose Richard Diaz as best man. Ushers were Stuart Gehler and Walter Nelson.
Mother of the bride wore a beige lace and chiffon gown with baby pink rose corsage. The bridegroom?s mother, was attired in pink lace and chiffon with matching corsage. The three grandmothers, Mrs. Mary Malattia, Mrs. E.G> Smith and Mrs. Burton Wilber Sr. wore white orchid corsages.
A reception at Story Park in Alhambra followed the ceremony, after which the newlyweds left for a honeymoon in San Francisco.
The new Mrs. Wilber is a 1969 graduate of Wilson High School and has been employed at BankAmericard Center in Pasadena.
Her husband is a 1970 graduate of Franklin High School and is now stationed at Por Hueneme where he is a hospitalman with the U.S Navy. They will make their home in Oxnard.
