  Notes	The Virginian-Pilot, Norfolk, Virginia, Friday, 14 September 1979 Justen S. Bass CHESAPEAKE ? Justen Spencer Bass, 77, of 3357 Galberry Road, Deep Creek, the husband of Mrs. Mercilla R. Bass and a native of Norfolk County, died Thursday in a Portsmouth hospital. He was a retired painter of Norfolk Naval Shipyard, where he worked 22 years. He was a member of Indiana United Methodist Church and Woodman of the World Camp 46. Other survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Gladys E. Passmore of Fort Mills, S.C., and Mrs. Carrie L. Sorey and Mrs. Christine Langston of Chesapeake; and six brothers, Lonzo C. Bass and Earl L. Bass of Chesapeake, Lindsey L. Bass and Albert Bass of Portsmouth, Ernest Bass of Suffolk, and the Rev. Leonard V. Bass of Roanoke. A funeral will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. in Indiana United Methodist Church by the Rev. William Kube. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery, Portsmouth. The family will be at Loving & Gay Funeral Home, Churchland, tonight from 7 to 9.
