Ezora Mae Carmon Bassett
Ezora Mae Carmon Bassett, 86, of Cheek, Texas passed away at Summer Place Nursing home on Friday, June 11, 2021. She resided in Cheek, Texas all of her life.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John Bassett, Jr.; parents, Sankam and Marion Antoine Carmon; seven brothers: Moses Carmon, Howard Carmon, Haywood Carmon, McGaffey Carmon, Earl Carmon, Ralph Carmon, and Sankam Carmon Jr.; and three sisters: Annora Jones, Harriet Nixon, and Elnora Semien.
She is survived by two sons, Jerone and Malcolm Bassett of Beaumont Texas; daughter Bonnie Bassett of Houston, Texas; 4 grandchildren: Christopher Houston, Michelle Bassett-Scott, Rheagan Wilkes, and Jason Bassett; 4 great-grandchildren: Brian Scott II, Brianna Scott, Jack Wilkes, and Caroline Wilkes; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on June 26, 2021, at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 9327 Lawhon Rd., Cheek, Texas 77713, with burial at Live Oak Memorial Park, 12563 W Port Arthur Rd., Beaumont, Texas 7705. Viewing will take place at New Bethel Missionary Baptist church from 9:00 am to 11:00 am on June 26, 2021. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of Compassionate Care Hospice of Southeastern Texas and Jerone Bassett who visited her every day permitted by Sommers Place Nursing Home.
