Death of Eldoras A. Bassett
Eldoras A. Bassett, son of the late Erastus J. Bassett, died at the home of his mother, Mrs. William Spencer, No. 90 Ann street, yesterday of consumption. He had been an invalid for two years. He was born in this city August 25, 1853, and was well known as at one time foreman of fire engine No. 4 on Ann street. He had been engaged in business in Chicago for some years until his health broke down, since when he had been at his mother?s home here. Two brothers survive hi, Ernest E.C. Bassett of the Hartford postoffice and Elmer E. Bassett of Chicago. The funeral will be held Monday afternoon at 2:30 o?clock, the Rev. H.H. Kelsey conducting the services. Interment will be in Spring Grove Cemetery.
