DOODMAN LEE BASS, age 74 of Shelby, passed away on February 12, 2026 at his residence. He was born in Chilton County on April 17, 1951; the son of the late Pete Bass and the late Mary Ida Blackmon Bass.
He was a former laborer in the elastic plant.
He is survived by: Brother, Tommy (Debbie) Bass of Clanton; Stepson, Jim Curtis of Tuscaloosa; Stepdaughter, Kim Curtis of Tuscaloosa; and Nephew, James (Sandra) McMon of Clanton.
He is preceded in death by: First wife, Brenda Bass; and second wife, Jan Bass.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026 at 2:00pm from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home in Clanton.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Burial will follow in the Shelby Garden of Rest in Shelby, AL.
