Wilson??..?Derl Gray Bass, Sr. age 88, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2018.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Doris LeRoy and Selma Bowden Bass; wife, Margaret Vick Bass; two sisters and four brothers.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Shingleton Funeral Home. Committal services will be conducted Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in Evergreen Memorial Park.
He is survived by daughters, Donna Barnes (Joseph) of Elm City, Rhonda Carroll (Patrick) of Jacksonville, NC, Margaret Pierce of Jacksonville, NC; son, Derl G. Bass, Jr. of the home; sister, Susie Barnes of Wilson; brothers, Roland Bass of Wilson, Ronnie Bass of Stantonsburg; grandchildren, Mellisa Sharpe (Chris), Travis Barnes, Jeremy Barnes, Jennifer Gilbert, Chrystal Danberry, Christopher Sutton, Adam Pierce; great-grandchildren, Delaney, Victoria, Ashley, Anna, Victoria, Juliana, Dillion, Elizabeth, Jack and Kaleb.
The family will receive friends following the service on Wednesday.
