Funeral services for Girley Bass Sanderson, 95 of Saint Joseph, LA, were held at Maryland Baptist Church at 2 p.m. on Sunday October 12, 2014, with Rev. Larry Foster officiating.
Visitation was held at Yong?s Funeral Home in Ferriday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday October 11, 2014.
Interment followed at Legion Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Yong?s Funeral home.
Girley Sanderson was born on Monday, February 24, 1919 in Lake Providence, LA, and passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2014.
She was a resident of Saint Joseph, LA, and a member of Maryland Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Monroe and Lula Bell Bass; husband, John Thomas Sanderson; son, Jim Thomas Sanderson; daughter, Clara Joyce Sanderson Rabb and son-in-law, Calvin Harold Rabb, Sr.; grandson, Kenneth Eward Sanders; brothers, Clifton Bass, Willie bass, and John R. Bass; and sister Earnestine Bass Arcuri.
Survivors include:
Daughter, Mary Sanderson Sanders of St. Joseph, LA; sister, Donis Bass Duncan of St. Joseph, LA;, granddaughter, Kathy Sanders Sandow and husband Allan, grandson, James Kiley Sanders and wife, Ginger, grandson, John Thomas Sanderson, granddaughter, Tammy Sanderson Thomas and husband, Chris, grandson Calvin Harold Rabb, and wife, Patty, and granddaughter, Kimberlee Rabb Kinnard and husband, David; great-grandchildren, Tyler Allan Sandow and wife, Mimi, Cole Barrett Sandow, Chase Landon Sanders, Anne Claire Sanders, Jim Thomas ?Jimbo? Sanderson, Boney Joanna Sanderson, James Dylan Thomas and wife, Maddie, Peyton Mathews Thomas, Emily Nicole Rabb, and Calvin Rafe Kinnard.
Pallbearers were Mrs. Sanderson?s grandsons, Kiley Sanders, John Sanderson, Hank Rabb, her great-grandsons, Chase Sanders, Tyler Sandow, Cole Sandow, Jimbo Sanderson and family friend, Theodore Felix.
