Corina Nolting

Corrales, NM-Corina Ana Celia Ringius Nolting passed into rest December 1, 2022 in Corrales, New Mexico at the age of 92.
Corina was born in San Luis, Argentina and grew up in Buenos Aires and its environs. She came to the United States in 1953 and that year married LaVar Allred Jones in Mesa, Arizona. She loved the Sonoran Desert and the Santa Catalina mountains of Tucson, where she resided and bore five children. In 1965 she divorced and moved to Los Angeles, CA. She was briefly married to Robert Wauchope Bass. She moved in 1973 to Salt Lake City, UT where she worked for the LDS Church's Translation Services, including as a simultaneous interpreter. In 1982 she moved to New Orleans, LA, where she purchased the couture boutique "R.A.G.S." She lived in Santa Fe, NM, from 1991 to 2014, where she worked as a costumer for the Santa Fe Opera and was an active member of the Sanchez Street Historic Neighborhood Association.
Corina was a voracious reader and lover of the arts and music, particularly opera. She was known for her impeccable sense of style. Corina loved to travel with friends, family, and especially her grandchildren (to whom she is "Mimi") in Europe and the Near East, and to the beaches of Florida and around the Southwestern U.S.
She is preceded in death by her older brother Manuel and survived by her brother Carlos, of Derqui, Argentina, and her sister Myriam, of St. George, Utah. She is also survived by her children Celia Jones Palazzo, of Covington, LA; Deborah Jones of Santa Fe, NM; Leslie Jones of Corrales, NM; and Dwight Jones of Tucson, AZ, as well as 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
