    Doris Bass Hennaman

    Doris Bass Hennaman, of Providence Forge, Virginia, was called home Saturday, February 25, 2006. She was the daughter of Kader and Candace Bass of Courtland, Virginia. Born October 29, 1925, Doris was one of 12 brothers and sisters, all of whom preceded her in death. She is survived by a large and loving family including a daughter, Kim Carter of Newport News, Virginia; and two sons, David S. Hennaman III of Lanexa, Virginia, and Mark A. Hennaman of Providence Forge; two granddaughters and their husbands, Candace and Nathan Dolan and Lori and Jamie Rainier; three grandsons, David S. Hennaman IV and wife, Jackie Hennaman, Daniel B. Hennaman and Allen W. Hennaman; three great-grandsons, Nate Dolan, Hunter Rainier and Will Hennaman. Surviving also are a daughter-in-law, Ruth Hennaman; and son-in-law, William Carter. She is additionally survived by a devoted brother-in-law, Tom Perry; three sisters-in-law; the father of her granddaughters, John A. Copland Jr.; and many nieces and nephews. Doris was preceded in death by the father of her three children, David S. Hennaman. She was loved by many and will be deeply missed. Doris was a member of the Providence Forge Presbyterian Church since 1966, where a service honoring her memory will be held Saturday, March 4, 2006, at 10 a.m., with the Reverend Stephen Hodges officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Wallace Manor in Providence Forge. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions can be made to the Providence Forge Presbyterian Church or the Providence Forge Volunteer Rescue Squad.

    Hennaman-Bass

    The marriage of Miss Doris Ann Bass, of Franklin, daughter of Kader Richard Bass, of Courtland, and the late Mrs. Candace Perry Bass, to David Samuel Hennaman, of Richmond, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. D.S. Hennaman, of Charles City, took place Saturday, April 12, at 4 P>M> at the home of Mrs. Thomas H. Skinner, in Franklin. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. William A. Grissom, pastor of the Franklin Congregational Christian Church.
    The bride wore a ballerina-length gown of yellow tulle over taffeta with brocaded bodice and matching hat, and carried a Bible with a white orchid showered with stephonatis.
    Mrs. Leon R. Pittman, of Franklin, was matron of honor.
    Noah Bradshaw, Jr., brother-in-law of the bridegroom, was best man.
    After a reception, Mr. and Mrs. Hennaman left for a wedding trip.
