Mickey Jean Bassett
Bassett, Mickey Jean, born August 19, 1921 in Fletcher, Oklahoma joined her parents Willie H. and Mattie Pearl Harris Hunter for a joyous Christmas reunion in heaven on Tuesday, December 22, 1987. Mickey was reared in South Oklahoma City attending Shields Heights and Capitol Hill High Schools and Wilmont Place Baptist Church. She has been an active member of Rancho Village Baptist Church participating in the choir and other activities always with a smile to brighten other's burdens. She was an organizing member of the Malcolm Hunter Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. She is survived by her husband of 38 years Warren P. Basset and four children: three daughters, Carol Novajean Smith, Oklahoma City; Janice Smith, Sallisaw; Vickey Thornton, Del City; and one son, Buster Bassett of Oklahoma City. Also two sisters Daphna D. Hobbs and Mildred Reser; and one brother, William H. Hunter, Jr. all of Oklahoma City; ten grandchildrdn and fourteen great-grandchildren and a beloved mother-in-law, Zora Bassett. Numerous relatives and friends will miss this lovely lady. Services 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 24th at Vondel Smith Chapel.
