Funeral services for Mrs. Ruby Mae Bassett, 71, of Springfield will be held at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon at the Christian church in Wheeling. Burial will be in the Wheeling cemetery under the direction of the Meinershagen Funeral Home. Mrs. Bassett was a cousin of Mrs. J. F. Meinershagen, Stanley Scruby and Horace Scruby and a former resident of Chillicothe and Wheeling. Mrs. Bassett died Thursday at her home in Springfield after an illness of three months. She lived in Kansas City 27 years, moving to Springfield in June, 1957. Surviving are her husband, Leonard L. Bassett, of the home; three sons, Frank C. Bassett, Kansas City; Leonard B. Bassett, Parkville; Ernest H. Bassett, of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Donald Swartz, Riverside, Calif., Mrs. William Scott, and Mrs. Clarence M[N]adsady, Sun Valley, Calif., two sisters, Mrs. R.E. Sanderson and Mrs. Charles Shackleford, Clay County, and 19 grandchildren.
