Husband of Caroline (nee Franklin); former wife, Kay (Swope) Toosi; beloved father of Beth Hinchman (Telford) Crisco and William R. (Toril) Hinchman; beloved grandpop of Anna, Krista and Erika. He is survived by his sister, Nancy Kirsch and his cousins, Dr. Kenneth Shockley and Eleanor (Robert) Gordon. Predeceased by his parents, Doris (Shockley) and William E. Hinchman. Born on July 22, 1933, in Palmyra NJ, Mr. Hinchman owned and operated Bassett's Auto Tags for over 40 years in North Phila. Bassett's was a North Phila. landmark which prided itself on hiring from and giving back to the North Phila. community. A Korean War veteran, he was a wonderful father and grandfather. Funeral Services are private. Donations, in lieu of flowers, to Canine Companions for Independence at www.cci.org. CCI raises, trains and provides companion dogs for wounded veterans.
