Anna E. "Nana" Bassett, 77
DAGSBORO - Anne E. "Nana" Bassett of Dagsboro passed away on Thursday, Aug. 2, 2007, in Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, Md. She was 77.
She was born in Perkiomenville, Pa., daughter of the late William and Margaret (Surgeoner) Phillips.
"Nan" was a homemaker and antique dealer.
She loved raising children, even though they were not her own, and she loved nature and farm animals.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent E. Bassett, in 1997.
She is survived by a stepson, Gary Troike and his wife, Kathy; two daughters, Melody A. Hudson and her husband, Richard, Robin Lynn West and her husband, Greg; five brothers, William Phillips, Robert Phillips, Harlin Phillips, Ronald Phillips and Dennis Phillips; two sisters, Marea Olsen and Sharon Townsend; four grandchildren, Kim Frey, Chris Hudson, Laurier Binet and Kim Campbell; and three great-grandchildren, Jordan Boesch, Katelyn Frey and Brair Rose Binet.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 43 Thatcher St., Frankford.
Interment will be in the Phillips Family Cemetery in Campbelltown, Md.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Sussex Pregnancy Care Centery, 5 Burger King Drive, Georgetown, DE 19947.
