Linda Mae Bassett
BASSETT - Linda Mae Bassett, 80, of Kingsland, Ga., passed away Aug. 25, 2024, at Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick, Ga.
Linda was born Oct. 8, 1943, in Glennville, Ga., to the late Jo Henry Blocker and Ora Bell Lynn Blocker. She was a mortgage executive for Watson Mortgage and was a member of St. Marys Methodist Church. She loved and supported the Humane Society and never met a stray that she didn't love. She was a loving wife, mom, meema and friend.
Linda is survived by her husband, Lawton "Gene" Bassett of Kingsland, Ga.; daughters, Sabrina Lee (Tim Shilling) of Jacksonville, Fla., Stephanie Carter of Jacksonville, Fla., and April Tucker (Richie) of Tifton, Ga.; son, Lawton E. Bassett III (Alisha) of Tifton, Ga.; and grandchildren, Tiffany Shilling, Erica Gann (Mason), Kaitlin Tucker (Adam Spurlin), Le Bassett IV (Miranda) and Annslee Bassett. Numerous cousins also survive.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son-in-law, Mike Carter.
Services will be Thursday Aug. 29, 2024, at St. Marys Methodist Church with visitation at 10 a.m. and funeral service at 11 a.m. Pastor Roy White will officiate. Burial will be at the Glennville City Cemetery in Glennville, Ga.
Active pallbearers are Le Bassett IV, Adam Spurlin, Mason Gann, Don Petrie, Jay Lassiter and Jeremy Cole.
Honorary pallbearers are the Moore Sunday School Class.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Hospice of the Golden Isles, Kingsland Humane Society and St. Marys Methodist Church youth fund.
Allison Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
