Mr. Kirby was a lifelong resident of Randolph County, Alabama. He was born March 17, 1921, son of Bob and Bertie Kirby. He was employed in the textile industry, was a World War II veteran and was a member of the Methodist faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Willie Sue Kirby. A funeral will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10 at Quattlebaum Funeral Home in Roanoke, Ala., with the Rev. Phillip Johnson and the Rev. Scott McKay officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memory Gardens. Survivors include one daughter, Ellen Bassett of Newnan; sons, Phil Kirby of Lanett, Ala, and Kenneth Kirby of Rock Mills, Ala.; sister, Bonnie Ferrell of Wadley, Ala.; brother, Okley Kirby of Lanett, Ala.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Quattlebaum Funeral Home, Roanoke, Alabama.
