Helen R. Bassett, Faithfully served the Lord all of her life and was a very dedicated Christian, passed away at 4:35 PM, Friday, June 21, 2013 at her residence in Watson at the age of 86. She was a Nursery Worker at Amite Baptist Church for 30 years. Visitation will be held at Amite Baptist Church in Denham Springs on Monday, June 24, 2013 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM and again on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 from 10:00 AM until religious services at 12:00 PM conducted by Rev. Gerald Martin and Rev. Gary Shows. Burial will be in Amite Baptist Church Cemetery. Survived by her 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Geraldine B. & Thomas Loper and Barbara B. & James Hull: her 6 sons and daughters-in-law, Royce C. & Diane Bassett, Eddie F. & Linda Bassett, James Robert Bassett, Don S. & Donna Bassett, Randy & Susie Bassett and Steve M. & Edna Bassett; 2 brothers, Julian M. and Joe R. Rotton; 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Clifton Bassett; parents, Asberry Chi and Mattie Sue Brooks Rotton; 2 grandchildren, Darrin Hull and Jana Bassett; brother, James F. Rotton; sister, Thelma R. Brooks. Her family will serve as pallbearers. She was a Charter member of Watson Baptist Church and was caregiver and loving mother through her whole life. Memorial donations may be made to Watson Baptist Church Building Fund, Cane Market Road in Denham Springs. Seale Funeral Home in Central is in charge of arrangements.
