  Notes	LaGrange Daily News, Tuesday, 30 Jan 2007 Ruth Bassett Ruth F. Bassett, 85, of LaGrange died Sunday, January 28, 2007 at Florence Hand Home. Mrs. Bassett was born September 29, 1921 in Roanoke, Ala., daughter of the late James Thomas Fincher and Maggie Florence Whatley Fincher. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Roanoke, Ala., and was the owner/operator of Ruth's Beauty Shop. Survivors include two sons, Marion E. Bassett of LaGrange and Thomas Jackson Bassett of Tallahassee, Fla.; daughter, Mrs. Marvin P. (Linda) Hughey of Montgomery, Ala.; six grandchildren, Karen Cardwell, Stephanie Perry, Ian Thomas Bassett, Brandon D. Hughey, Angela H. Thomason, and Morgan P. Hughey; four great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. (EST) Thursday, February 1, 2007, at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, LaGrange Chapel. Burial will follow in Shadowlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M.
