Donald Ralph Bassett
Bassett, Donald Ralph was born June 19, 1938, in Wichita, Kansas, to Dorothy I. German Bassett and J. Ralph Bassett. Donald passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2015, after bravely fighting Alzheimer's the last few years. Don graduated from Wichita High School West in 1955 and attended Wichita State University. He joined the Army in 1959, served in Korea and honorably discharged in 1962. Don was an avid Bowler and Table Tennis player, competing and ranked nationally in both sports. He loved watching WSU's basketball team. Don retired from Boeing Aircraft Company Wichita in 1994. In 2014, Don left many friends in Wichita and moved to Utah to be near family. He is survived by his sister, Barbara Craft of American Fork, Utah; a niece, Pam Craft Pettingill of Mt. Pleasant, Utah; a nephew, Stan Craft of Lehi, Utah; and many grand nieces and nephews. Services will be held Friday, November 20, 2015, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 300 S. Center, American Fork, Utah. Interment will be at Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bluffdale, Utah. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association ? alz.org.
