Lanelle Bassett
Lanelle Bassett, born October 13, 1928 in Henderson Texas died Friday, November 21, 1997 in MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston; after a brave and courageous four year battle with ovarian cancer.
She was retired as a speech and hearing specialist and diagnostic teacher with Houston I.S.D. Following her retirement in 1986 she divided her time between Houston and Naalehu, Hawaii. She was a life member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and one of the eleven original members of the school art program.
She was the only child of Richard Bassett and Nellie Adams Bassett.
Funeral services will be outdoors at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, November 25, 1997 at Rusk County Memorial Garden Cemetery. Casual warm clothing requested. Procession will leave from Funeral home at 10:30 A.M.
Family visitation will be Monday: 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
