Mabel Bassett McBride
Sylvania - Mabel Bassett McBride, 90, died Wednesday, July 23, 2003 at Syl-view Health Care. She was a member of McDonald Church and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse McBride. Survivors: daughters, Elma M. Johnson of Asheville, N.C., Lois M. Brant of Milledgeville, Nell M. Ezell of Savannah, Pat Cavanaugh of Wilmington, N.C., Priscilla McBride of Edwardsville, Ill., Ann M. Thompson of Sylvania; Dean Lowe of Tybee Island; five sons, Jack McBride of Shellman Bluff, Bob McBride of Sylvania, Lahue McBride of Martinez, Dennis McBride of Uvalda, Lester McBride of Girard; three sisters, Thelma B. Jenkins of Sardis, Eunice B. Royal of Thomaston, and Reba Bassett of Sylvania; two sisters-in-law, Mintoria S. McBride of Sylvania and Ollie Bell Bassett of Millen; 25 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Visitation: 7:00-9:00 p.m., Friday, July 25 at the funeral home. Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 26 at McDonald Baptist Church. Mrs. McBride will lie in state one hour prior to the services. Burial: McDonald Baptist Church Cemetery.
