Bassett, an employee of Golden Oak & Finchers and former owner of Bassett Feeds, died Thursday at a Dublin nursing center. He was 83. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Nowlin Funeral home in De Leon. Burial will be in De Leon Cemetery. Mr. Bassett was born in Downing and lived in De Leon most of his life. Survivors: Four daughters, Barbara Davis of De Leon, Joyce West of Kingston, Okla., Linda Kinard of Abilene and Judy Wren of Irving; brother, J.C. Bassett of Dublin; sister, Mary Corbell of De Leon; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
