DUBLIN - J.C. Bassett, 84, a retired truck driver for Taylor-Harbin Gas Co., died Saturday, Jan. 30, 1999, at a Deleon hospital. Graveside service: 2 p.m. Tuesday in Downing Cemetery in Downing. Family will receive guests 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday. Memorials: The American Heart Association. J.C. Bassett was born July 4, 1914 in Downing. Harrell Funeral Home Dublin, Texas, (254) 445-3311.

J.C. Bassett
DUBLIN - J.C. Bassett, 84, died Saturday at a De Leon hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Downing Cemetery in Downing with the Rev. David Roberts officiating, directed by Harrell Funeral Home.
Mr. Bassett was born in Downing and had lived in Dublin since 1954. He retired as a truck driver after 21 years with Taylor Harbin Gas Company. He was a member of Primitive Baptist Church. He married Hazel Kinnard in 1934 in Downing.
Survivors include his wife, of Dublin; two daughters, Wanda St. martin of Dublin and Betty Phipps of Fort Worth; one son, Jim Bassett of Wheeler, one sister, Mary Corbell of De Leon, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
