Lorene Stephens Schuessler
(DENISON, Texas) - Lorene Stephens Schuessler, 84, of Denison, Texas, a former Roanoke resident, died Saturday, July 15, 2000.
Services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 18, at Johnson-Moore Chapel, Denison, with the Rev. Ken Hildrebrand officiating. Burial was in Cedarlawn Memorial Park.
Mrs. Schuessler was born May 19, 1916, in Roanoke, daughter of the late Charley and Bessie Brown Bassett. She was preceded in death by her fist husband, George Stephens, and her second husband, Straiton Schuessler. Along with her first husband, she was co-owner of Stephens Construction Company in Roanoke. She was a member of Waples Memorial United Methodist Church, Beta Sigma Phi, Thursday Review Club, Christian Women's Club and Newcomers Club.

Surviving are a daughter, Dorothy Muldrew of Dension; two brothers, Pete Bassett of Lakeland, Fla., and Gordon Bassett of Atlanta; three sisters, Irene Keeble and Viola Thomas of Lakeland and Mary Baldwin of Birmingham; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Peggy Steward, and brothers Leon, Guy, Jim and Bill Bassett.
Arrangements were by Johnston-Moore Funeral Home, Denison.
