The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Smith-Rhoden Funeral Home, Allendale. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Erhardt. Mrs. Bassett, a native of Fairfax, was a telephone operator. She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church and the Women's Missionary Union. Survivors include her husband, George B. Bassett Jr.; two daughters, Lisa B. Metzger, Fairfax, and Lynn B. Avila, Aiken; her mother, Velrue C. Cone, West Palm Beach, Fla.; a brother, W.F. Cone, Stewart, Fla.; three sisters, Eleanor C. Brackney, Lake Worth, Fla., Margaret C. Graham, Jacksonville, Fla., and Gloria C. Sease, West Palm Beach; and two grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Midlands Hospice or to St. John's Baptist Church. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
